 I have come to learn that, with the death of a loved one, the entire world shifts under your feet and the world doesn't stop for your grief. There are decisions that must be made when we are not prepared to make them. Choosing a memorial stone with a special message that was beautiful, thoughtful and personalized for my wonderful husbands memory and who I miss incredibly much was very important to me.

I didn't decide right away on a stone. In the weeks that I walked around the cemetery after the funeral, I noticed that the memorial stones I appreciated the most had the Maki insignia on them. I did research the possibility of buying a stone elsewhere, but came back to Maki.

The people at Maki were very professional - knowledgeable, helpful, patient and kind. They offered options, explained things well, gave me the time to think without any pressure whatsoever. As Kim said, "this stone will be there a very long time...you don't need to make a decision today."

Okay, so the final product was more important than rushing and not getting a stone I knew would be perfect and do justice the beautiful memories of my loved one. That felt right to me. No pressure.

Nevertheless, once I was confident of what I wanted, the entire process was smooth and everything was delivered and set up as they promised. I thank Maki Monuments for their assistance - not just the product but the service. Both were exemplary. I would recommend them to anyone.

I used to be a shell fisherman and wanted a picture etched on my stone of a beach scene with a person clamming in the background. Kim went above and beyond to go take a picture of one of her family members on the clam flats clamming so that I could have it on my stone. Everything came out just perfect better than I could have imagined. Kim was so helpful and I would recommend Maki Monument Co. to anyone.
